Heather is part of the Services Team for the NZAGRC.
Heather joined AgResearch in 2006 as a Business Development Manager, working across a diverse range of science programmes. Having a keen passion for the environment, she moved to the NZAGRC when it officially opened in 2010 as the Centre Operations Manager. This role was varied, challenging and particularly utilised her strategic, analytical, and contract/project management skills.
In 2019 an opportunity arose to manage AgResearch’s PreSeed Investment Fund, and Heather moved into this position. She voluntarily left AgResearch at the end of 2019 to travel the world with her family for a year during 2020. Due to world events, she returned to New Zealand earlier than envisaged, and worked in the community sector for Environment Network Manawatū and the Parliamentary Service. Heather rejoined the NZAGRC in September 2021 and currently provides a range of support across the organisation.
Heather is originally from the UK and has a PhD in biophysical chemistry from Cambridge University and an MChem from Southampton University.
